Educator

Pete has enjoyed running creative music projects since 1997.  As a jazz pianist with a classical training, he has the rare ability to connect diverse genres and communities.  His work ranges from facilitating composition in youth offender’s institutes to creating jazz ensembles with primary school children; from working with professional orchestras and opera houses to working with street children in India. 

Pete enjoyed three years as the Artistic Director of Aldeburgh Music’s ‘Group A’ and five years as a Music Director of Glyndebourne Youth Opera. He is an education ambassador for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and a trustee for the St. Albans Cathedral Music Trust.

THE CAPE CRUSADERS REACH OUT (Concert Highlights)

Highlights of “The Cape Crusaders Reach Out” concert in the Southbank Centre.

In October half term 2018, 36 young people aged 13-18 came together from across London to take part in the ENO Baylis youth programme. Over four intensive days, the group created their own original piece London Rise inspired by the music and themes of The Gershwin's opera Porgy and Bess.
